Hi, I’m Ryan.

I’m a small-space apartment dweller, a longtime design lover, and — most relevant here — the owner of a cat who deserves better than beige plastic. Catmoderne started with a simple frustration: I’d spent months getting a room right, then watched a hulking litter box or a carpeted cat tower undo all of it in one corner.

So I went looking for cat furniture that actually reads as furniture — the side tables, benches, shelves, and enclosures that hide the “pet” part and keep the room feeling like yours. There turned out to be more good options than I expected, and a lot of bad ones dressed up in nice product photos. Catmoderne is where I share what I find, honestly.

How I review

Every piece gets judged on two fronts: does it genuinely look good in a real room, and does it hold up to daily life — odor control, cleaning access, footprint, assembly, and whether the cat will actually use it. I try to be upfront about tradeoffs, because trust is the whole point.
